Free Website Grader — Audit SEO, Performance & Conversion

What it does. Audits any URL across 8 categories and ~50 parameters — performance, SEO, mobile, security, accessibility, conversion, analytics, and technical health — and returns a prioritised action plan ranked by impact and effort.

When to use it

Before any redesign, before launching a paid campaign that points at the homepage, after a major release, and as a recurring monthly check. Most teams find five to ten quick wins they hadn't noticed.

What you'll need

  • A public URL (no login required)
  • About 60 seconds for the audit to complete

How the scoring works

The grader runs synthetic Lighthouse-style performance metrics, parses HTML for SEO signals (title, meta, headings, canonical, OG, structured data, alt text), checks security headers and HTTPS, runs WCAG colour-contrast and ARIA checks, looks for conversion patterns (single H1, primary CTA above fold, form length), and confirms analytics and tag manager wiring. Each category is scored 0–100; the overall grade is a weighted average.

How to read the output

Start with the "Impact × Effort" matrix. Fix the high-impact / low-effort items first (usually meta tags, alt text, oversized images, missing structured data). Treat performance issues that touch Core Web Vitals as urgent — they affect both SEO and conversion.

FAQ

Is the grader as accurate as a manual audit?

For ~80% of issues, yes — it catches what an experienced auditor would catch in an hour. Strategy questions (positioning, IA, content quality) still need a human.

Does it work on staging URLs?

Only if the staging URL is publicly reachable. Password-protected staging needs an offline audit.

Will running the grader hurt my analytics?

No. The grader sends a single GET request, identifies itself in the user-agent, and respects robots.txt.
