Run this in your agent

The same method runs as the free AAJ agent skill Pricing & Packaging, so a coding agent can do this work with your own data. Install it with npx skills add sarojkjha/aaj-marketing-skills --skill pricing-and-packaging.

How the modeler works

Enter each pricing tier with its list price and the number of customers on it. The modeler returns blended ARPU, the share of revenue each tier contributes, the multiple between each tier and the one below it, and whether the top tier is priced far enough above the second tier to anchor the range. Use it to see what a price change, a new tier or a shift in the customer mix does to revenue before you change the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

What is blended ARPU?

Blended ARPU is the average revenue per account across your whole tier mix: total revenue divided by total customers. Two companies with identical list prices can have very different blended ARPU depending on which tiers their customers actually land on, which is why it beats a single headline price.

Why does revenue concentration across tiers matter?

If most of your revenue comes from your cheapest tier, your upgrade path isn't pulling and you're under-monetizing. Healthy packaging concentrates revenue in the middle and top tiers, where willingness to pay is highest. The revenue mix tells you which it is.

What makes a good price ladder and anchor?

Tiers should step up by distinct multiples so each feels like a different product, not a rounding error. A meaningfully higher top tier anchors the range and makes the middle tier look reasonable. Three to four tiers usually convert best; more creates decision paralysis.
